Extract the eternal from the ephemeral – Charles Baudelaire
若說〈此曾在〉代表我這個時點上的生命流動,那麼〈花與骨〉就是將過往層層堆疊起來、讓我今天得以如是存在的一種展現。「花」代表了對內在生命、身體、自然與情感的探索;「骨」則代表了人類學所給我的世界觀。這兩者深深的影響了我理解並且看待這個世界的方式。
〈花與骨〉的題名也發想自Georgia O’keeffe,這兩者是她的畫作中常出現的題材。O’keeffe的畫唯美與純淨中令人心弦震裂,即便是在荒漠蒼涼間仍然可以透出生命的光,一朵花與一片葉子,對她來說宛如宇宙,她曾說:
When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it,
it’s your world for the moment.
I want to give that world to someone else.
Most people in the city rush around so,
they have no time to look at a flower.
I want them to see it whether they want to or not.
後來這段話變成「開花」門口玻璃上的字句,我總想著,不論媒介如何,我們一直心心念念的不就是在追求心靈被觸動的那瞬間?
